Book a Gulf Coast holiday and visit the Shy Wolf Sanctuary

There are plenty of places to see animals on a Gulf Coast holiday in Florida, but one place families may wish to visit is the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples.

The attraction is home to a wide variety of wolves, wild dogs, coyotes, foxes and cougars that have been neglected or abused.

Several big cats are also cared for at the shelter, including leopards and jaguars.

As well as meeting the animal residents, visitors can also adopt one, helping to secure the future of the sanctuary.

Educational programmes are available, allowing holiday makers to learn more about the work of the park and the animals it rescues.

They also provide a unique opportunity to interact with the animals.

Open all year round, the sanctuary is located on the Gold Gates Estates in Naples, so those renting Gulf Coast villas in the resort will be able to get there easily.

The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is also close to Naples, so wildlife-loving families could also spend a day here spotting alligators, river otters, northern yellow bats and striped skunks.

Specially-marked trails take visitors through four different landscapes, including a wet prairie and a cypress forest, along a 2.25-mile raised boardwalk.
