Book a Florida holiday and walk with dinosaurs at the Imaginarium

Families enjoying a holidays in Florida will find plenty of fun at the Imaginarium Hands-On Museum and Aquarium.

From now until May 9th, the Fort Meyers destination will be putting up some special guests - in the form of roaring, animated dinosaurs.

The robotic creations, brought to life through the magic of animatronics, were manufactured by Kokoro Dinosaurs in Los Angeles.

Tyrannosaurus rex and other lizards from the cretaceous period will be joined by Sabretooth tigers, giant sloths and woolly mammoths, much like the characters of the loveable Ice Age films.

Part of the travelling Dinosaurs & Ice Age Giants exhibit, the creatures were designed to look, move and sound like their prehistoric counterparts.

The exhibit includes eight large dinosaurs including Apatosaurus Pachycephalosaurus, a Maiasaura and a flying Pteranodon.

"Visitors to the Imaginarium will be able to see creatures not part of the prehistoric world here in Florida, where we were under water during the days of the dinosaurs, and then discover some that may have roamed our freshly emerged shores during the Ice Age," said Matthew Johnson, general manager of the Imaginarium.

Other exhibits at the Imaginarium currently include the Animal Lab, the Fisheye Lagoon and the Florida Fossil Quarry.
