Book a Florida holiday and visit the Golden State

Families heading to Florida to enjoy Orlando villa holidays can visit California without travelling to the other end of the US.

The Soarin' simulator ride at Disney's Epcot theme park takes holiday makers on an exciting journey above the skies of the so-called Golden State.

Guests sit in a hang glider and are whisked through the air, passing over some of California's most famous sights.

They will fly over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Yosemite National Park and the city of Los Angeles.

The journey is a multi-sensory one as the hang glider moves to simulate the feeling of flight, a specially-written score provides the soundtrack to the experience and smells are pumped into the air as riders pass over certain scenes.

For example, as they fly over evergreen forests, the aroma of the trees will be fill their senses, while scenes close to the ocean are accompanied by a sea breeze scent.

Soarin' is not the only ride at the Epcot centre that lets guests travel without leaving Florida.

Mission:SPACE lets them soar high above the earth's atmosphere to take part in a special cosmic assignment.

Those who want to spend as much time as possible exploring the Disney World attractions can rent their own Orlando villas in the Disney area.
