Book a Florida holiday and parade through Orlando

Families heading off on Florida villa holidays in Orlando just after Christmas will be in for a special treat.

On December 30th, the annual Orlando Citrus Parade will take place, featuring marching bands, costumed revellers and decorated floats.

Organised by Florida Citrus Sports, the event celebrates the holiday season and also marks the arrival of an important annual college football game.

The parade will pass through downtown Orlando and holiday makers can find a place along the route to watch.

Many of the floats will be adorned with citrus fruits, which is donated to local food banks and ranches after the event.

Several of Florida's top tourist attractions, such as Disney World, Sea World and Busch Gardens have entered floats into the parade in previous years.

High school and collage marching bands also take part, as do professional equestrian teams who put on some exiting performances.

Those who want to embrace the citrus theme could rent a Florida villa in the Orange Lakes Leisure Resort, which is a short drive from downtown Orlando.

It is also just a few minutes away from the world famous theme parks of the Disney World Resort.
