Book a Florida holiday and hit Blizzard Beach

There are several water parks in Florida offering plenty of watery thrills and spills for holiday makers.

But those booking Orlando holidays for the spring or summer months will be able to enjoy all the attractions at a newly refurbished Blizzard Beach.

This Disney water park is closing on January 10th while it undergoes a revamp and will reopen on March 20th 2010.

Families heading to Orlando after this date will be some of the first to experience the park in its newly overhauled state.

Those planning new year holidays however, can still visit if they're quick and arrive before January 10th.

The park is themed on a ski resort, with slides and other attractions made to resemble slalom courses, bobsled runs and other toboggan rides.

Flumes include the Slush Gusher, which features a 28-metre drop down a slush-covered mountain gully, and the Summit Plummet - the world's tallest and fastest freefall body slide.

Of course the snow at Blizzard Beach is fake and holiday makers can actually enjoy some beautiful sunny weather, especially those heading to Florida in the summer.

Families renting Orlando villas in the Disney area will be close to Blizzard Beach, as well as the other main Disney attractions, including the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom.
