Book a Florida holiday and get lost in the corn maze

Families planning Gulf Coast villa holidays in Florida can spend a day exploring the corn maze at the Dakin Dairy Farm in Myakka City.

Opening each year at the end of October, the maze lasts until the corn dies out, which happens some time in January.

Those heading to Florida in the next few weeks will still be able to enjoy it, in addition to some of the other attractions on the farm.

Promising to keep visitors puzzled for up to an hour and a half, the maze features a number of clues to help them find their way out.

Once they've cracked the labyrinth, guests can browse the stalls at the farm market, where home made ice cream, honey and other produce can be purchased.

Kids can pet the animals in the barn and hen house or visit the pigs in the squealer field. Hay tunnels and fossil digs also provide hours of entertainment for youngsters.

Tourists who want to learn more about how the farm works can take a special tour, where they will learn how milk is produced from the field to the bottle.

Those visiting in the evening can bring marshmallows and hotdogs, which they can roast over a campfire.

Gulf Coast villas in Bradenton are a short drive from Myakka City, so a visit to Dakin Dairy Farm could be on the itinerary.
