Autumn 'the best time' for a Florida holiday

Those who want to go on an Orlando holiday in Florida but are put off by the tourist crowds should consider travelling to the Sunshine State in the autumn.

According to travel journalist Paul Hiffmeyer, now is the best time to visit Orlando, as children have returned to school and prices are cheaper.

In an article for the New York Post, he claimed Florida holiday makers can enjoy crisp, clear days and pleasant nights in Orlando in the autumn.

For adults who enjoy roller coasters, the major theme parks will be much quieter, allowing them to try out the top rides without queuing for hours.

But Orlando is not all about the big attractions, as there is a great deal more to see.

Mr Hiffmeyer said those taking autumn Florida holidays will be able to drive up the I-4 to experience "the real Orlando" city.

Locally owned businesses such as the Dandelion Communitea Cafe - a poplar vegan hangout - and the Little Saigon restaurant can be found here.

Orlando villas in Legacy Park could be a perfect base for those who want to get out and explore.

The resort is just ten minutes away from Disney World and close to many of the other main theme parks, but is also within easy reach of major routes such as the I-4 and the US 27.
