Adventure Island makes Gulf Coast holidays magic

Florida holiday makers do not have to stay in Orlando to have fun at some top theme parks, as the Gulf Coast also has its fair share.

The Adventure Island water park is one of them, offering aquatic excitement over 30 acres of land peppered with palm trees and sun loungers.

Rides include the Aruba Tuba, the Caribbean Corkscrew and the Gulf Scream, with slides and flumes to suit all ages.

A 17,000 square foot wave pool also provides endless fun, while Fabian's Fun Port is perfect for little ones.

Those who want to sit back and imagine they are in the Caribbean can do so in the Paradise Lagoon area, which features a cool pool, waterfalls and swinging vines.

After all the excitement of the major rides, holiday makers can chill out and cruise along the Rambling Bayou in a rubber ring, passing through a colourful rainforest where waterfalls, rain and even fog create a lifelike atmosphere.

Various dining options are available at Adventure Island, including the Surfside Cafe where visitors can grab a pizza or a hot dog, or Bayou Beach Club, which serves nacho platters and jumbo pretzels.

The park is located in Tampa, so those renting Gulf Coast villas in Bradenton will be able to get there easily by car.

Bradenton is just ten minutes away from Sarasota, where Florida holiday makers can find numerous shops, restaurants, cinemas and theatres.
