Why to book up Cyprus villas in October
People who head to villas in Cyprus next month could be a part of two exciting events during their stay.
The Mediterranean island's capital city of Lefkosia is the place to be during October in order to honour the destination's Independence Day.
People in the location will be able to witness a military parade to kick off the public holiday, which is set to travel through the city centre.
Then in the evening, Lefkosia's Presidential Palace will be hosting an open reception, so that celebrations can go on throughout the night.
People staying in holiday villas closer to Limassol throughout October may instead be interested in the Afamia Grape Festival, which descends upon the village of Koilani.
Guests have the chance to sample some fresh wine at the attraction, as well as tuck into some palouze – a lip-licking Cypriot dessert.
Folk dance performances and painting exhibitions are also being presented during the festival, while open-air markets could provide Brits with some interesting souvenirs.
