Why not visit Aphrodite Hills golf resort when in Cyprus villas?

Brits who like to go on golfing holidays may want to head to Cyprus villas, thanks to the island holding an extravagant attraction for fans of the sport.

The Aphrodite Hills golf resort can be found within a short journey of the destination's ancient town of Paphos.

First opening its gates to the public back in 2002, designer Cabell Robinson believes it to be a "culmination of my 35 years designing courses".

There is plenty for those staying in villas in Cyprus to explore across the venue too, seeing as though the 18-hole course is spread over 6,299 metres of land.

It also sits atop a location where, according to Greek lore, the goddess of love, Aphrodite, emerged from the sea.

Another golf attraction to visit in Cyprus is that of Elea Estate, an 18-hole Sir Nick Faldo course that was only opened in October 2010.

Kent-based golfer Liam Burns has already visited the area, recently telling Today's Golfer: "Elea is a fantastic place to visit with all the facilities you could require."
