Visit the Tombs of the Kings on a Cyprus villa holiday
Located near Paphos, the UNESCO World Heritage site is the resting place of around 100 aristocrats who died in the area in the 4th century BC.
Built into the bedrock of the hills, the tombs are connected via passageways which open up into large rooms and chambers.
Some were even built to imitate the houses of the living.
Tourists can wander through the site, taking in some of the ancient architecture and the frescoes which decorate the walls.
Numerous excavations have been carried out around the tombs and historians are still examining them today.
The Tombs of the Kings are open all year round and are easily accessible from Coral Bay, where holiday makers can rent villas.
This resort boasts a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as a beautiful beach.
