Visit the Limassol Wine Festival on a Cyprus villa holiday
Wine aficionados looking forward to a Cyprus villa holiday this summer can pay a visit to Limassol as the town hosts a festival dedicated to the popular beverage.
The event will take place at the Municipal Gardens, just across from the coastal promenade, between August 27th and September 5th.
First held in 1961, the festival has become a permanent and highly popular fixture on Limassol's social calendar.
One of the trademarks of the event is the giant 'vraka man', which towers above the entrance and carries the motto "drink wine to be healthy".
Holiday makers staying in Cyprus villas can join in with the celebrations and sample a range of local wines, which can be combined with Cypriot food.
The festival also features a number of activities and some live entertainment, including performances by local and international arts organisations.
Limassol is located on the southern coast of the island and is home to a medieval castle, an archaeological museum and other attractions for visitors to look out for during a Cyprus holiday.
