Couples searching for somewhere to spend their first few days of married life may be wise to opt for the idyllic surroundings of a villa in Cyprus.
Orestis Rossides, UK director at the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, says the Mediterranean resort is home to Europe's longest summer, allowing brides and grooms the security of the likelihood of sunshine for their honeymoon.
Some even choose to get married on the island, such is its beauty, warmth and scenery – all of which has combined to lead it to be dubbed the Island of Love.
Cyprus, which is the home of Aphrodite, also boasts a range of top-class accommodation, such as the luxury pads offered by James Villas.
"What better setting for weddings and honeymoons?" the expert asks, adding: "Not to mention clear skies, blue sea and a selection of some of the most luxurious resorts in Europe."
Cyprus was recently chosen by Sir Paul McCartney as a holiday destination, as the ex-Beatle jetted off for the half-term break with his young daughter.
