Venture through history while in Cyprus villas
Holiday makers will have plenty of eye-catching historical sights to seek out if they book up villas in Cyprus near to Paphos.
The city is home to a raft of awe-inspiring attractions, all of which date back hundreds or even thousands of years.
For instance, a visit to the Tombs of the Kings presents families with the opportunity to explore a UNESCO World Heritage listed venue which was first established in 300BC.
Such a venue was built when the Ancient Greeks held rule over Cyprus, with high officials said to have been buried at the site.
A total of eight tomb complexes can be visited at the attraction, with some beholding elaborate displays and others complemented with picturesque Doric columns.
History fans may also want to visit Paphos' Roman Mosaics, which were only discovered when a farmer was ploughing his land in 1961.
A trio of Roman villas make up the discovery - the House of Dionysus, House of Aion and House of Theseus – with each displaying their own unique features.
