Tourists hoping to gain insight into the history of Cyprus while taking holidays to the Mediterranean destination should take a day trip to Larnaca.
Families have plenty of interesting attractions to seek out while visiting the southern Cyprus city, each of which is sure to educate holiday makers during their getaway.
For example, a trip to Larnaca Fort allows people to explore the sights and sounds of the Larnaca District Medieval Museum.
Marvellous cannons, attractive lace which was created in nearby Lefkara and eye-catching suits of armour are all on display within this venue.
Brits should also look to visit Pierides Museum in order to glimpse precious folkloric and archaeological artefacts.
The pieces have been gathered together since legendary scholar Demetrios Pierides collected the first items in the 1800s, and has grown in size thanks to the efforts of five generations of the Pierides family.
Precious ceramics and household items from such eras as Myceanean, Roman, Crusader and Turkish rule are all on display for holiday makers to view.
