Transport yourself to another realm on a Cyprus villa holiday
In an article for the Yorkshire Post, the island's former capital is described as an "open air museum" where the "immortal verses of ancient Greek playwrights still resonate".
The newspaper points out that Paphos has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and insists it is not hard to see why.
It states that wandering around the ruins of the Roman governor's palace "opens a door into another world, bringing history sharply into focus and leaving the wide-eyed explorer feeling humbled".
There is also much more to explore outside of Paphos and since Cyprus sits at the crossroads of three continents, numerous cultural influences can be seen in its art, architecture and way of life.
Holiday makers hoping to explore Paphos and other sites in Cyprus could rent a villa in the Aphrodite Hill Leisure Resort, which is just 20 minutes from the old city.
It is also home to a wide variety of amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and a luxury spa.
