Those staying in Cyprus villas 'should install digital TVs'
People who are preparing to take holidays to Cyprus villas in the coming weeks may notice a change to how they watch TV on the island, if they have visited before.
That is because the country will be completing its transition to digital television on Friday (July 1st).
Such a move will be one way, according to the island's minister of communications and works Erato Kozakou–Markoulli.
She explained: "From midnight on June 30th, we make the final and irreversible transition to the digital era."
Ms Kozakou-Markoulli added that the move will mark "a historic moment for our country", before urging those yet to make the switch to do so immediately, to avoid disruption.
Brits staying in villas in Cyprus will probably want to explore more than just the nation's TV output, with the country also boasting 100 per cent quality bathing waters, according to recent European Environment Agency and the European Commission research.
