Take in the Limassol Carnival during a Cyprus holiday
Tourists heading for a stay in a Cyprus villa at the end of February may have a chance to join in with this year's Limassol - or Lemesos - Carnival.
According to the country's official tourism organisation, the event is scheduled to run from February 24th to March 6th.
It will take place in what is the country's second-largest town, with local people taking to the streets to walk and dance between various floats as they make their way along the carnival route.
Festivities will be held in Heroon Square, the Market Square and the Medieval Castle Square, among other locations, while a special children's parade will also take place.
The event begins with the traditional Tuesday dance - which occurs on Shrove Tuesday - and the Grand Carnival Parade brings proceedings to an end on the Sunday.
Trips to Cyprus are set to surge this summer, one airline has suggested, with Monarch recently revealing a 165 per cent rise in seat sale for trips during the hottest months of the year.
