Spring and nature celebrated on Cyprus holiday
The Anthestiria Festival takes place in Larnaca each year and is a celebration of nature's re-birth.
Feayuring floats and fresh flowers, the parade takes place along the seafront promenade and dates back to ancient Greek times.
During the ancient times, feasts were ordered to celebrate the day of Anthestiria which is traditionally an event to represent souls, plants, flowers and the rebirth of nature.
Cyprus is well known for exciting festivals and Paphos also holds a festival to entice holiday makers from their Cyprus villa.
The Anthestiria Festival in Paphos also features a parade and floats around the old harbour with many people carrying fresh flowers.
Alternative holiday makers can choose to relax by spending a day beside the private villa pool or taking a long walk around the island's beautiful countryside.
As well as long walks and stunning vistas, the island has miles of beautiful beaches on which to relax and soak up some of the Mediterranean sun.
