Grab yourself a late deal >Southern Cyprus villas 'to receive electricity boost'
People who have been concerned about power issues when taking flights to southern Cyprus villas may be pleased to hear of developments on the island.
Rolling power cuts have hindered this part of Cyprus since an explosion was felt in one of the island's naval bases last Monday (July 11th), Cyprus Mail reported.
The blast was substantial enough to cause the main power plant of Cyprus to be taken out of commission.
However, Stefanos Stefanou, a spokesman for the island's government, has declared that affected areas in the southern part of Cyprus will be soon supplied with electricity courtesy of the north, via the Electricity Authority Cyprus.
"The application was submitted with the approval of the government after legal advice from the Attorney-general," Mr Stefanou confirmed.
People still deciding on where to take their holidays this summer are likely to find plenty of appeal by booking villas in Cyprus along the island's south coast, which boasts the attractive resorts of Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.
