Seaside holiday in Cyprus 'to get even better'
Tourists who book a holiday in Cyprus may find their experience by the Mediterranean Sea is enhanced yet further when one of the country's major destinations is given an upgrade.
A deal is now in place and has been signed to overhaul the seafront at Limassol, at a cost of about €18 million (£15.3 million), reports Cyprus Property News.
Open parks and extra green spaces will be created along the coast, with the principal aim to improve the aesthetic appeal of the town.
There will be new play areas for children, two trendy cafes and a significant upgrade of the promenade for those on holiday in Cyprus to enjoy, explains the publication.
"Visitors, tourists, residents, everybody will look at Limassol town with new eyes, it will be a tremendous boost to our economy and give us a new confidence and character," says mayor Andreas Christou.
Travel writer Joanna Tweedy, author of a piece for the Daily Mail, recently said northern Cyprus is a beautiful place that is underrated by many tourists.
