Pissouri Bay 'one of the best locations' for a Cyprus villa holiday
Writing for the Liverpool Echo, Frank Corless said the crescent-shaped Pissouri Bay retains a "sanctuary-style feel" despite its proximity to some of the larger resorts on the island.
He said the village of Pissouri - which sits above a valley "overflowing with vineyards and orchards" - is particularly picturesque.
"Here, you can wander narrow streets, or enjoy drinks and meals in the village square tavernas," he recommended.
Pissouri Bay is also well-placed for a trip to Aphrodite's rock, which may be top of the holiday itinerary for couples, especially those on their honeymoon. According to legend, this is the place where the Greek goddess of love rose from the sea.
"Sitting here at sunset would be the crowning glory for any bride and groom," said Mr Corless.
Holiday makers planning a holiday in Cyprus can rent a villa in Pissouri Bay, which is known as one of the island's quieter resorts and boasts a mile-long beach framed by stunning white cliffs.
