Phinikoudes Beach a must on a Cyprus holiday

Beach lovers will be in heaven on a Cyprus holiday as there is a wealth of coastal areas in which to kick back and relax.

But a visit to Phinikoudes Beach near Larnaca could be a highlight for those who enjoy nothing more than sunbathing on the sand.

According to the country's official tourism website, this particular beach is one of the most famous in Cyprus.

Lined with palm trees, the 500-metre long sandy stretch has numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, so holiday makers can spend the whole day there.

There are also facilities such as toilets, showers and changing rooms, as well as sun beds, umbrellas and water sports.

Tourists can get to the beach by bus or if they have a rental car they can park on one of the car parks close by.

And of course with its Blue Flag status, families can be sure that the beach is kept clean and that the water quality is top notch.

Those hoping to spend a lazy day on Phinikoudes Beach could rent a Cyprus villa in Protaras on the east coast. From here they can drive or catch a bus to the Larnaca area.

Protaras also has its own beautiful beaches where snack bars and water sports can be found.
