New flights to increase options for those travelling to Cyprus villas
Families and couples who book a stay in a villa in Cyprus this year will have the option of travelling with budget airline Monarch.
That is because the airline, which is known for transporting leisure tourists, has launched a series of routes from the UK to Paphos.
It will run services twice a week from London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, with the first jets to take off on May 4th.
Tim Jeans, managing director at Monarch, says: "The addition of new services to Paphos is in direct response to customer feedback and will increase the number of Monarch seats between the UK and Cyprus by 35 per cent next summer."
He adds the firm already takes about 300,000 people on holiday to Cyprus each year.
Monarch this week announced a 12.8 per cent rise in passengers numbers in December compared with the same month in 2009 – success that was partly contributed to by those flying to the Mediterranean islands.
