More people visiting Cyprus villas this year?
More holiday makers opted to venture across Cyprus in April, which could suggest that the island could be looking at a bumper summer for people occupying its villas.
According to the statistical analysis service of the Cypriot government, a total of 199,762 tourists visited the popular destination last month.
The figure is 43 per cent higher than that recorded in Cyprus in April 2010 and helped in "making it the largest monthly rise in several years", according to the statistical service.
Other results released by the organisation included more Brits, Russians and Germans arriving in Cyprus, as well as tourist figures rising 17.6 per cent in the first four months of 2011, when compared to the same period last year.
Brits have been given more opportunities to visit villas in Cyprus this year too, thanks to Greek airline Aegean launching one direct flight a day between London Heathrow and Larnaca.
