Is a Cyprus holiday becoming more appealing to golfers?

Golfers may wish to book a villa in Cyprus ahead of the planned opening of three new courses on the island.

The trio of facilities have been approved by planners and will be constructed shortly.

Meanwhile, another three golf centres are in the final stages of the application process, which could further boost the country's offering to keen players of the sport.

Trade, commerce and industry minister Antonis Paschalides is reported by the website as suggesting some €4 million (£3.29 million) has been collected in order for the courses to be built.

And those who book a villa in Cyprus could time their arrival to ensure they are among the first to tee off at the new developments.

Two of the courses are due to be located close to Larnaca, while the other will be in the Paphos region.

Among the famous faces to have chosen a Cyprus holiday in recent times are Gabby and Kenny Logan, who stayed in a complex close to Paphos last week.
