Holiday makers staying in a Cyprus villa 'will find friendly locals'
Anyone residing in a Cyprus villa during their holidays will more than likely make friends with a fair few of the locals during their stay.
That is according to Frank Corless, who wrote in the Mirror that most Cypriots are kind and "anxious to please" when it comes to looking after tourists.
Staying close to the Blue Flag sand and shingle beach at Pissouri Bay, the travel writer noted that there are shops and restaurants just a short trip from the sea front.
"The picturesque village of Pissouri, towering above a valley overflowing with vineyards and orchards, is only a few miles away," he added.
"Here you can wander narrow streets or enjoy drinks and meals in tavernas in the village square."
For couples who visit the area, Mr Corless noted that it is just a ten minute drive from Aphrodite's Rock, where legends insist that the Greek goddess of love was born.
As if that isn't enough, there is plenty of age-defying architecture on offer to those who visit the island, which boasts a history dating back thousands of years.
In fact, water wells discovered on the island by archaeologists are some of the oldest known examples in the world, at more than 10,500 years old.
