Guests at Cyprus villas advised to visit Kourion
One of Cyprus's most fascinating and historical locations is open and has been recommended to those planning to stay in a villa in Cyprus.
Located less than half an hour from the famous Aphrodite's Rock, the island of Kourion is "like a large open-air museum", explains the Belfast Telegraph.
The newspaper goes on to suggest that if travellers are interested in ancient history then they have definitely chosen the right place for a holiday.
It puts the historic value of the country down to its geographical position, sitting as it does between Europe, Africa and Asia – with influences from each found on the island.
"The main attraction for tourists today is the amphitheatre which was originally built in the second century BC," notes the publication, adding the setting hosts a number of events through the summer.
Paul Smith, writing an article for the Scotsman, recently suggested a holiday in Cyprus offers plenty to do and see.
