Get up close with the wildlife on a Cyprus villa holiday

Animal lovers on a Cyprus villa holiday have the chance to get up close and personal with rare animals at the Limassol Zoo.

Located in the Municipal Gardens, the complex is home to over 300 animals and birds, including tigers, lions, panthers, bears, zebras, monkeys, peacocks and foxes.

Many of the animals were brought to the zoo from circuses, or born in captivity.

A Natural History museum is also on site, and a nearby educational centre screens films on wildlife and nature.

Every Sunday a small train runs for children and their parents, taking them on a tour around the park.

People may also wish to visit Paphos Bird Park, a few minutes drive from Coral Bay and home to exotic parrots, toucans, eagles, owls, snakes and crocodiles.
