Festival fun on a Cyprus holiday
Travellers wanting to stay in a Cyprus villa could do so in nearby Protaras and enjoy the Kataklysmos festival in Larnaca, which runs from June 13th to June 18th, the Famagusta Gazette reports.
Some 300,000 people are expected to visit Larnaca for the event, which is also known as the Flood Festival and consists of a procession to the harbour or the waterfront, with a cross-bearing priest leading the way, the newspaper said.
Performances from bands, singers, children's entertainers and more will also take place as part of the festivities, which coincide with the Pentecost feast.
According to Paul Collins of BuyAssociation, the Aphrodite Hills area is becoming increasingly popular among Cyprus holiday makers and retirees alike, due to its scenic setting and extensive golfing facilities.
