Expert: Couples will enjoy getting married on holiday in Cyprus
Romantic couples may find tying the knot while on holiday in Cyprus is one of the most romantic ways to get married.
Orestis Rossides, UK director, Cyprus Tourism Organisation, says such a scenario is relaxing, beautiful and without the complications that can be an issue during marriages in the UK.
The expert explains procedures for arranging a wedding and party on the Mediterranean island are "uncomplicated", while brides and grooms can choose from a significant range of options.
Mr Rossides adds: "The fact that English is so widely spoken is a great advantage. The proximity to the UK also allows for couples to invite family and friends to join them to celebrate their special day."
Cyprus is often dubbed by tourism chiefs the Island of Love and has a strong reputation for romance dating back to the time of Marc Antony and Cleopatra.
It was also the recent choice of ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, who chose to spend the half-term break in the country with his daughter, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
