Experience the Flood Festival on a Cyprus villa holiday
Holiday makers will be offered an experience of local culture during Cyprus villa breaks in May when the island hosts its annual Flood Festival.
Also known locally as Kataklysmos, the event will be held in a number of different locations, including the popular coastal town of Paphos from May 22nd to 24th.
The Greek Orthodox festival is held 50 days after Easter and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles as told in the Bible, as well as the tale of Noah's Ark and the myth of Deukalion.
A strong aquatic theme runs through the event, with younger visitors encouraged to bring along water guns and play on the beach.
There will also be various sports events taking place in the sea.
People on Cyprus villa holidays will be able to enjoy music concerts, dance shows and other entertainment outside the castle in Paphos and at the harbour.
Paphos is located in western Cyprus, a popular area of the island where visitors can rent villas in Coral Bay, Latchi, Pomos and other resorts.
