Euros come to Cyprus
Cyprus joins 14 other countries that now use the currency and the coins will be inscribed in both Greek and Turkish.
Visitors to the island will still be allowed to exchange their pound notes until 2017 although the Cyprus pound will no longer be classed as legal tender from the end of January.
Not only can travellers now use the common European Union currency when holidaying in Cyprus but they can also enjoy the sun, sea and culture the island has to offer.
Holiday makers can take a trip from the villa to quiet beaches or spend a day in the Cape Greko National Forest Park in the south-east of the island.
Magnificent sea cliffs and indigenous flora await visitors and many of the 36 different species of orchid growing around the island can be find in the park.
