Enjoy some Greek drama on a Cyprus villa holiday
There will be some unique and memorable entertainment on offer to Cyprus villa guests this summer when the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama returns to the island.
Due to celebrate its 14th outing this year, the event will be held at various venues across Cyprus from July 1st to 27th.
The festival is arranged by the International Theatre Institute of Cyprus and celebrates the theatrical culture that emerged in ancient Greece more than 2,000 years ago.
People taking Cyprus villa holidays will have the opportunity to expand their cultural horizons by seeing works such as Agamemnon by Aeschylus, which will be performed at the Ancient Odeon in Paphos on July 17th and the Curium Theatre in Limassol the following day.
Other dramas by Aristophanes and Euripides will be performed at the same venues by companies such as the People's Art Theatre of China and the National Theatre of Greece.
Holiday makers planning a Cyprus villa break this year can learn more about Greek culture and history by visiting sites such as the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos.
