Enjoy an open-top bus tour on a Cyprus villa holiday

A trip to Larnaca could prove a popular option among people taking Cyprus villa holidays this year, with a series of open-top bus tours set to be launched in the city.

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) announced that two double-decker buses will begin to operate the services in May.

People who are hoping to see some of the small villages in the Larnaca region can choose a tour that will take them to locations such as Skarinou and Tochni, which have benefited from the growing popularity of agricultural tourism.

This route will also feature significant sites such as the Neolithic settlement of Choirokitia and the church of Aggeloktisti in Kiti.

Those who would prefer to see the main sights within the city of Larnaca during their Cyprus villa holiday can travel on an open-top bus to visit the Hala Soultan mosque in Tekke, the ancient harbour of Kition and a medieval castle.

In its statement announcing the new services, the CTO said: "Tourist[s] shall get to know the traditional villages of the region - which have in the past few years greatly developed their agrotourism product - and also get acquainted with the rich history and culture of the Larnaca region."
