Energy deficit of Cyprus 'to be met soon'
People taking trips to villas in Cyprus in the south side of the island have been told that they should not have long to wait for power to return to normal in the location.
Following a blast at a naval base at the Mediterranean hot spot, around half of the destination was stripped of power.
As a result, rolling power cuts have been hampering parts of the island, while the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has called for people to conserve energy by turning off their air conditioning systems.
However, Brits who are not travelling to Cyprus until later in the summer season should have little to worry about, if words from the organisation's chairman Harris Thrassou are anything to go by.
He explained: "The EAC aims to meet the current energy deficit and have a surplus to accommodate possible breakdown of the aging equipment resurrected to meet energy needs."
Mr Thrassou's comments come soon after Stefanos Stefanou, a spokesman for Cyprus' government, assured people that the south will soon be getting electricity delivered to them via the north of the island, Cyprus Mail reported.
