Cyprus villas 'surrounded by quality bathing waters'
Families may be pleased to hear that they will be presented with clean healthy water if they opt to jet off to Cyprus villas this summer.
New research carried out by the European Environment Agency and the European Commission has found that 100 per cent of bathing waters on the islands were in compliance to guide and mandatory values.
Such a statistic means that Cyprus has been found to be the ideal location for water quality spots, though closest rivals Croatia, Malta and Greece all had good showings too.
The research was conducted by analysing the water quality of over 21,000 coastal and inland bodies across the EU-27.
Janez Potocnik, environment commissioner, commented: "I am glad to see that the quality of Europe's bathing waters remains high, although there is room for improvement. Clean water is a priceless resource, and we should not take it for granted."
Those who are looking to relax in the beautiful waters around villas in Cyprus may want to head to Ayia Napa, after its coastline topped a recent TripAdvisor survey of the best European beach destinations.
