Cyprus villa tourists told: Prepare for the surreal
The country welds a number of different atmospheres to create a truly unique experience for people staying in Cyprus villas, a new article on Desicritics.org observes.
"It is a surreal place where every kind of worldly atmosphere possible seems to mix and glide fluidly," notes the article.
Based on a visit after the demolition of the Ledra Street dividing wall earlier this year, the writer observes that cafes and other tourist facilities are available around the site of the historical boundary.
And the unique character of the island's residents was compared to New York by the traveller, who perceived that the locals are "quick with the tongue, but would help you out if you really needed it".
Last week, Kayte Williams of travelsupermarket.com noted that package holidays to Cyprus are still popular with British tourists, who consider the historical hotspot to be a perennial favourite.
