Cyprus villa holidays to become more technological?

The people of the future who are heading away on a Cyprus villa holiday may have a lot more technology and gadgets to help them enjoy their time at the destination than we do now, experts have predicted.

In a report entitled From Chaos to Collaboration, technology experts Amadeus are forecasting that travellers will use virtual tour guides who will take visitors on a tour of a city, highlighting landmarks and areas of interest.

Airport security will also be ramped up, according to the paper, with fingerprint boarding passes and eye-scanning passport control being just eight years away, and these are designed to avoid the lengthy queues that frustrate travellers in airports.

By the year 2020, all airports will be completely paperless and bags will be tagged electronically - eliminating the worry that luggage will end up in a different destination to the passenger.

Eberhard Haag, executive vice-president of global operations at Amadeus, said: "Over the next decade, there is a significant opportunity to redefine how the industry delivers and packages services to meet changing traveller needs."
