Cyprus holidays 'widening their appeal'
Chris O'Toole writes on Travelbite.co.uk that Cyprus holidays are decisively widening their appeal to tourists, demonstrating that the country's fascinating history and breathtaking landscapes are the ideal ingredients for a holiday with a difference.
The nation has experienced "two tumultuous millennium" during which it has witnessed the rule of Egyptians, Persians, Venetians, Britons and Mycenaean Greeks, the report observes.
As such, the architectural heritage and way of life on the island is truly unique and certainly worth seeing, Mr O'Toole suggests.
"The island is covered with an abundance of wild flowers, olive and carob trees, shrubs and splendid floral plants basking in the Mediterranean sunshine all year round," he observes.
During June and July, the annual Music Days festival at the Kourion Theatre draws international musicians from genres spanning classical to jazz, who perform in an amphitheatre some 1,800-years-old.
