Cyprus holidays 'still popular with Brits'

According to the holiday travel manager of an industry website, Cyprus is currently among the top locations for UK tourists taking holidays abroad.

Kayte Williams of travelsupermarket.com explained that "destinations that are popular at the moment" include Cyprus, as well Mallorca - both Mediterranean hotspots that have historically been firm favourites with Brits.

Families in particular may be attracted to holidays in destinations like Cyprus, she stated.

Meanwhile, people staying in Cyprus villas this October may wish to attend the Kypria festival, which offers holiday makers an inside look at the location's cultural heritage.

Ballet, opera, theatre, music and cinema are among the attractions on the itinerary for people visiting the popular spot.

Meanwhile, John Buckley, founder of environmental advice company Carbon Footprint, has recommended that tourists buy local food to ensure their holiday is sustainable.
