Cyprus holidays made more accessible for East Midlands residents
Cyprus villa holidays have been made more accessible for travellers living in the East Midlands with the launch of new flights from the region.
Low-cost carrier Jet2.com launched its inaugural service from East Midlands airport to Paphos today (May 19th).
The airline said the route represented its investment in the region and went on to reveal that it would be launching flights to Alicante, Palma, Faro, Bodrum and Rhodes in May 2011.
Stephen Turner, commercial director of East Midlands airport, said: "It's an exciting and historic day for both the airport and the region as we see the first passengers depart, whilst celebrating the airline's decision to base a further aircraft at the airport."
People planning villa holidays in Cyprus can catch flights to Paphos or Larnaca, another popular destination, with several different carriers, including British Airways, easyJet and Monarch.
The island is home to a number of towns and resorts that provide ideal surroundings for a relaxing break, such as Pissouri Bay, Pomos and Latchi.
