Cyprus holidays 'an option for all seasons'
Cyprus holidays will be a popular option among travellers throughout the year, if the new acting director general of the island's tourism agency achieves his ambitions.
Lefkos Phylactides of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation told Travel Daily News that a number of strategies are being employed to ensure that the destination remains competitive during a testing time for the industry.
He pointed out that seasonal changes in demand have an effect on tourism on the island, but stressed that there is potential for Cyprus holidays to be a viable option for consumers year-round.
"We are ready to implement additional, structured plans in order to specifically address the issue of seasonality and successfully extend the tourist season," Mr Phylactides said.
"It is my personal belief that Cyprus has all the potential to be gradually established as a top-performing destination for all four seasons."
He went on to say that he is "highly optimistic" about the future of tourism on the island.
People planning a Cyprus holiday during the coming summer have the option of booking villas in Coral Bay, Pomos Beach, Latchi and other popular destinations.
