Cyprus attracts more visitors
Figures from the Passengers Survey found that 2.4 million tourists arrived in Cyprus from January to December 2007, an increase of 0.6 per cent from the previous year, according to financialmirror.com.
Its no surprise that visitors are being enticed to the island as it offers a multitude of activities for holiday makers.
Cyprus is famous for its ancient artefacts and the island is an archaeological museum of its past that features ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Phoenicians.
The cult of Aphrodite was also a big part of Cyprus as the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty came from the sea and onto a rock in the sea where she came on land.
Aside from the history and culture, Cyprus is also popular for its warm and sunny climate and its countryside where visitors can go walking and enjoy the Mediterranean surroundings.
