Cyprus 'a mystical land'

The Irish Times states that as well as being a popular destination for beach holidays, the island also offers plenty of cultural stimuli.

It points out that holiday makers can hike in the Cypriot mountains, explore its Byzantine churches and monasteries and discover numerous archeological treasures.

The writer of the article said the Aphrodite Hills is a particularly mystical place to stay on a Cyprus villa holiday.

Here, holiday makers can take in the view of the Petra tou Romiou - the rock where the Greek goddess of love is said to have mythically emerged from the waters.

Families can stay at the Aphrodite Hills leisure resort, which is home to an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and a spa.

It also has a wedding chapel for those who wish to make their getaway truly memorable and tie the knot in what is arguably one of the most romantic places in the world.
