Cyprus comes alive to the sound of music every summer with its celebration of sound, running throughout June and July.
The breathtaking Kourion Theatre forms the backdrop for a feast of musical delights, with a host of international classical and jazz musicians arriving on the island to perform.
Cyprus Music Days Festival is an annual event that offers something different from most classical or jazz experiences, thanks in no small part to the beautiful Kourion Theatre.
Built in the 2nd Century BC, the huge open-air amphitheatre provides fantastic views over the island, due to its vantage point above the sea. Ideal at any time of the year as a vantage point to watch the sun go down, it is particularly impressive during the summer months when the onset of evening is accompanied by the wonderful sounds of the various artists performing in the theatre itself.
The beautiful theatre is situated just outside Limassol and the views alone make this place worth the visit.
