Changes to rally announced, Cyprus
The Cyprus rally, one of the prime visitor attractions for the late season, has made some changes this year, it has been announced.
Having lost its World Rally Championship (WRC) status last in 2006, the event will now technically count towards the FIA Middle East Rally Champioinship.
The race's organisers also say that they have "re-assessed and re-examined" every aspect of the event, with the re-appearance of a popular focal point for race spectators, the Seafront Service Park on Limassol promenade, as one of the improvements.
Press officer Chris Christoloudou told Crash.net: "The Cyprus Rally is always a lot of fun, with an upbeat and friendly atmosphere, both in the Service Park, between the teams, and among the fans
Statistics prove that the Cyprus Rally is a favourite with fans all over the world."
Clerk of the course Takis Kyriakides added: "With mid-October dates, we expect mild temperatures - which means ideal conditions for competitors to do battle against the backdrop of the island's beautiful countryside."
The event will take place from October 12th-14th.
