Car hire 'can make holiday in Cyprus more enjoyable'
Hiring a car could be an essential move if people are to truly gain the greatest experience while on holiday in Cyprus.
Maria Socratous, tourist officer for the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, notes a vehicle opens up the entire island to visitors, as it is only three hours from one side to the other.
Not only does this mean holiday makers can explore all four corners of the Mediterranean landmass, they can also stop at their leisure to take in whatever locations and attractions they wish.
"It's better to take a car because you can enjoy the landscape. If you ride on a bus you cannot stop and take photographs," explains Ms Socratous.
With such a compact island boasting beautiful beaches, turquoise seas and ancient settlements, access to a car may ensure tourists see more than they would imagine.
Recent figures by the tourist board revealed more than 700,000 British people took a holiday in Cyprus during the first eight months of 2010 – almost half the total number.
