Book a Cyprus villa holiday for a dose of sunshine

There is something for everyone on a Cyprus villa holiday, whether it is simply soaking up the sun on the beach or walking the breathtaking Troodos Mountains.

People looking for a beach holiday should head to the eastern side of the island, reports the Telegraph, where the climate is the most settled.

"For a more active holiday, the beautiful Troodos Mountains have a network of walking paths with pretty picnic spots; most of the trails are suitable for young children," states the news provider.

"Try the gentle Caledonia Trail and go swimming in the Caledonia Falls."

Young children may also enjoy spotting local wildlife on a walk through the Avakas Gorge, featuring limestone cliffs.

Discover the traditional side to the island and head inland to the rural villages, with authentic stone-clad houses situated in the foothills.

The more adventurous may wish to take a jeep safari to the Kykkos Monastery, and also visit the highest point on the island at Mount Olympus.
