Book a Cyprus villa holiday and discover the island's traditional side
People on a Cyprus villa holiday may wish to head north for a taste of seclusion and traditional Cypriot life.
The unspoilt coastline of Akamas Peninsula, the westerly tip of Cyprus, is home to turtles, rare birds and butterflies, according to the Telegraph.
Covering six per cent of the island, it is dotted by quaint villages and almond and olive groves.
Typical sights are men playing backgammon in the coffee shops and donkeys carrying firewood through the streets, states the news provider.
Selling agent Samantha Day told the Telegraph: "In rural Cyprus, you are never far from the coast.
"Within five minutes of Neo Chorio, you can be at Latchi harbour or Akamas Bay, but you can also become part of village life."
Holiday makers are spoilt for choice in Cyprus, with miles of sandy beaches, bustling towns and charming villages set in the hillside.
People can also embark on hiking trips, spend the day at the beach windsurfing or horse riding at sunset.
